We have worked on various film sets, but this is an example of a large scale train crash for ITV’s Heartbeat. As can be seen from the photos, we arrived to find an empty field with a small track leading in.
We constructed a new temporary access road, so the massive train carriages could be transported onto the site via special HGV’s and solid ground for the cranes to do some heavy lifting!
Next we dug footings for the train carriages to be laid into. The site was then 'destroyed' for the making of this epic crash scene, and when the TV crew had all left, we reinstated the whole area to it's previous calm.
